Cool Order for Hot Location
The Project
Since 1999, the Government of Mongolia has been introducing Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI) with UNICEF and WHO support. The IMCI strategy combines improved management of childhood illnesses with nutrition, immunization and other important factors influencing child health.
UNICEF is in the process of expanding the children's vaccination program to the rural areas of Mongolia and a refrigerated truck was needed to transport the vaccines and other medication.
The Challenge
The local UNICEF office had to find a refrigerated truck that was able to withstand harsh conditions, including temperatures ranging from over 50 to minus 45 degrees.
The Isuzu refrigerated truck was put forward as a good option as it fitted perfectly with UNICEF’s requirements and budget.
The Solution
Bukkehave’s truck department was highly involved in the project, providing technical advice which led to the best solution. Bukkehave has delivered this type of truck to other UNICEF projects, so they knew they could rely on us.
Staff in Bukkehave’s Denmark and UAE offices were involved, along with the Isuzu factory in Japan in order to fulfill the order with the correct specifications for UNICEF’s needs.
The truck was delivered well within deadline, thanks to our in-house logistics team.
