130 units shipped from stocks in Denmark and the UK to West Africa, then driven to Central African pipeline project
An international oil pipeline contractor required 130 pickups and SUVs be shipped from Europe by the end of May, to arrive in West Africa before the onset of the rainy season.
Mitsubishi and Ford vehicles were supplied from stock in Denmark and the UK, and Ford Rangers from the UK were added for ocean shipment. All vehicles were ultimately loaded in Antwerp and shipped to Douala, Cameroon for arrival by the end of June. They were then driven via caravan over 2000 km to Kome, Chad.
The vehicles were for use in a 3-year project that develops landlocked oil fields in Southern Chad and were needed in Chad only 21 days from the placement of the order. The shipment was made possible because of close coordination between international contractor headquarters in USA and field office with Bukkehave's global sales and logistics departments and special handling preparations by the local agent.
A series of complicated tasks were achieved by extreme attention to detail, vehicle survey reports supplied in Douala and again in Kome, and by having the Bukkehave Logistics Manager meet customer representatives and the shipper upon vehicles' arrival in Douala, Cameroon.
