Driving Training

Whether you drive in an urban, rural or remote environment, you will be able to correctly assess and handle critical driving situations. The teaching programs are highly applicable and effective and only teach what works. All courses are available at Special Training Centers, in England and different locations in Africa. Other territories are available by arrangement.

4WD Training

4WD Management Training (1 day)

Wondering about what to consider when buying a 4WD to suit your needs? Not all 4WD’s are the same, consider: live axle, independent front suspension, free-wheeling hubs, limited-slip differentials, etc. This course will introduce you to different 4WD Systems and operation, including do’s and don’ts.

4WD Defensive Driving Course (1 day)

Vehicle rollovers often are caused by skids, which are caused by excessive speed for the circumstances, over-steering in relation to speed (which may not be excessive), harsh acceleration, or sudden and excessive braking. This course is designed specifically for people who operate 4WD’s on an unsealed road surface in urban and rural areas.

4WD Bush Defensive Driving Course (1 day)

Excessive braking and clutching compromises your ability to control your vehicle on uneven or slippery terrain. This course will teach you to use low-range gears and engine braking to successfully traverse obstacles in a controlled and steady manner.

4WD Self Recovery Course (1 day)

Learn the mathematical and practical steps to retrieve any 4wd vehicle, using a variety of self-recovery equipment including: hand winch, electrical winch, kinetic energy ropes, shovel, hi-lift jack, adjustable chains and ground anchors.

Security Training

Intensive Course (5 days)

A course designed for those traveling through or working in potentially high-risk territories equipping them with the knowledge and experience to do so safely with raised awareness. This course includes:

Driver training, both on and off road including recovery, vehicle checks and every day maintenance.
Medical awareness, casualty assessment, cardio pulmonary emergency, controlling bleeding and fractures.
Security techniques and tips to reduce risk whilst traveling.

4WD Field Security Awareness Training (3 days)

Drivers and passengers of project vehicles, including managers, learn together to work as a team in order to successfully identify, avoid, and /or counter threats albeit from a driving hazard or vehicle and occupant security threat point of view.

Counter Carjacking Course (1 day)

The threat is real! This course will teach you to recognize the situation before it happens... avoid it (if possible)... and finally how to hand over your vehicle (if necessary).

Protective/Security Driving (4 days)

This hands-on course delivers this intensive "situation specific" driver training to corporate and individual clients alike. Develop threat recognition and evasive driving skills; learn to successfully identify, avoid, and/or counter the threat.

Protective Driving - 4WD Add-on Course (1 day)

This course has been designed to refine your security driving skills for an off-road environment. You will learn to successfully counter the threat using a 4WD vehicle. Vehicle dynamics, control, handling, and terrain are all different. Skills need to be refined for the different environments you will be working in.

Protective Driving - Refresher Course (1 day)

Keep awareness and reaction times sharp. Refresh protective-driving skills at least every 18 months. This training takes place on sealed roads. You will learn to handle your 4WD to ensure you will react quickly and effectively. You must have successfully completed a protective driving course within the last 24 months.

Roadcraft Courses

Motorcycle Operation Course (1 day)

This course highlights the dangers of operating motorcycles in any region. We specifically train to the individual rider's skills. Gain confidence in your ability and your machine and at the same time identify the limit of your experience.

Basic Maintenance Course (1 day)

Learn how to service, make roadside emergency repairs on your 4WD and prepare your vehicle for towing. Theory is followed up with practical demonstrations and exercises.
